Simon Ashdown has extensive work experience in the technology and financial industries. Simon started their career at Deutsche Bank, working in technical architecture. Simon then moved to BGI, where they served as a Design & Development Manager, focusing on hedge fund and derivatives platforms. Simon joined Man Investments as an Agile Delivery Lead, leading a project to scale middle office processes. At Man, they also took on the role of MAN-GLG Integration Technology Project Lead, coordinating teams across multiple sites. Simon later became AHL's Front Office Development Manager, overseeing the development of critical trading system components and transforming business processes. Simon then joined Option Computers as the Head of Development, responsible for managing a global team and delivering software solutions. Simon continued their career at Barclaycard as a Technical Lead / Agile Coach, providing technical leadership and supporting dev-ops work. Simon later worked at Spinnaker Consulting Limited as an Agile Coach and at Argos as an Enterprise Technical Programme Manager. Currently, Simon is the Head of Engineering at BlueBay Asset Management, where they lead engineering efforts and serves as an Agile Coach.
Simon Ashdown attended Bangor University from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Simon also holds several certifications, including Certified LeSS Practitioner, Professional Scrum Master (PSM I - 100% pass mark), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO I - 96.7% pass mark), and Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS - 93% pass mark).
