Justin Yong has worked in the animation and rigging industry since 2015. In 2015, they were an Intern at Arecont Vision, where they managed a schematic component library and developed a Python library to automate component information storage. In 2016, they were a 3D Animation Teaching Assistant at Purdue University, where they supported instruction of basic 3D modeling, texturing, and rigging, and guided students toward completing class projects. Also in 2016, they began working at Razor Edge Games as an Animation & Rigging Team Lead, where they oversaw the production of animations and rigs to maintain high production quality, created and assigned animation and rigging assignments for team members, and quality assurance (QA) checked team members’ completed animations and rigs to ensure high quality. Justin also worked as a 3D Rigger at Razor Edge Games, where they rigged bipedal and quadrupedal creatures and mechanical objects, painted and refined skin weights of characters and clothing, and adjusted and cleaned up rigs as necessary to improve functionality and performance. In 2018, they became an Animation & Rigging Assistant Team Lead at Razor Edge Games, where they created and assigned rigging assignments for team members, QA checked team members’ completed rigs to ensure high quality, and collaborated with modeling, texturing, and coding departments to facilitate asset production. In 2018, they also began working at Wamba Technologies as a 3D Artist, where they provided expertise integral to the release of the company’s first game, created cartoon-style characters and props to be utilized in gameplay and marketing, and retopologized older character models to reduce file size and improve efficiency.
Justin Yong attended Purdue University from 2012 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Graphics Technology.
