Ian Merrick has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Ian began their career in 1991 as a Communications and Electronics Technician with the Royal Australian Air Force. In 2000, they joined Optus as a Network Engineer and later became a Senior Network Engineer and Subject Matter Expert. In 2006, they moved to Airservices Australia as a Terrestrial Network Engineer. In 2007, they became the Operations Manager for Complete Communications Services in Victoria. From 2009 to 2017, they were the Manager of Infrastructure Design and Records at VicTrack and also served as the Team Leader of Fibre Design. In 2021, they joined CitiPower and Powercor as a Project Manager of Optical Fibre Maintenance and RayGen as an Operations and Maintenence Technician.
