Yancey Houston has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Starting in 1989, they worked as a Manager at The Outdoor Sportsman, where they hosted "The Country Sportsman" show. In 1992, they transitioned to Outside Sales Representative at Air Compressor Sales and Service. At Georgia Power Company from 1995 to 2005, Yancey served as a Marketing Account Manager. Following that, they joined Autotrader US as an Advertising Sales professional from 2005 to 2007. Returning to Georgia Power Company in 2007, Yancey held multiple roles including Project Manager, Head Sales Coach, and finally Sales Manager until 2021. Currently, they are working as a Sales Director at RavenVolt, leading efforts in providing turnkey microgrid solutions.

Yancey Houston attended Stockbridge High School from 1982 to 1985. Following high school, Yancey pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Outdoor Education at Georgia Southern University from 1985 to 1992.
