Jacob Avery

Sr. UAS Developer at RapidFlight, LLC

Jacob Avery has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jacob is currently working as a Senior UAS Developer at RapidFlight, LLC since March 2022. Before that, they worked at Ilmarinen LLC as a Flight Test Engineer from November 2020 to January 2022. In this role, they were involved in designing and testing electric VTOL quadplanes.

Jacob also worked as a Flight Test Engineer at Corsair Technical Services from April 2020 to November 2020. During this time, they assisted in the development of a Group 2 electric VTOL quadplane for the Vulcan team, which eventually led to the formation of Ilmarinen LLC.

Prior to their work at Ilmarinen, Jacob was a Flight Test & Operations Engineer at Vulcan Inc. from March 2017 to April 2020. Here, they were responsible for test engineering and conducting UAS ISR operations.

Before their time at Vulcan, Jacob worked as an Aeronautical Analyst at The Ulysses Group, LLC from June 2015 to November 2016. In this role, they devised and built solutions for UAS R&D projects and generated worldwide instrument procedures.

Jacob was also a Co-founder and Design Team Lead at SiliconMindCo from June 2014 to June 2015. Jacob played a key role in designing software and technology solutions.

Furthermore, Jacob worked as an Office Assistant at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from January 2011 to December 2014. In this position, they led a print and media campaign and created presentations for the College of Engineering.

In addition, Jacob participated in a study abroad program at the European Tour for Air Traffic Management in May 2013.

Jacob Avery attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2010 to 2014. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems Science and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Air Traffic Management. In addition to their degrees, Jacob also obtained various certifications including an Instrument Rating, Private Pilot license, and Remote Pilot certification under 14 CFR Part 107 from the Federal Aviation Administration.
