Luan Tran has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering field. Luan began their career at Open Vision Technologies in 1995 as a Software Engineer and stayed with the company until 1997. Luan then joined Veritas Software as a Software Engineer, where they worked for two years. In 2000, Luan started working at Idiom Technologies, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer for a year before moving to Serena Software in 2001. At Serena Software, they held the position of Staff Software Developer for over 10 years. Luan's most recent position was at Rapid7, where they worked as a Lead Software Engineer starting in 2012.

Luan Tran obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from UMass Boston, where they attended from 1992 to 1996. They then pursued further education at Boston University, earning a Master of Art degree in Computer Science, which they completed from 1997 to 2001.
