Dean Of Community Engagement And Multicultural Affairs at RANSOM EVERGLADES SCHOOL INC

Vanessa Lopez serves as the Dean of Community Engagement and Multicultural Affairs at Ransom Everglades School since August 2021, in addition to supervising the 6th grade English section and teaching English. Currently, Vanessa is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Miami School of Education and Human Development, contributing to both the First Star Academy and Inspire U Academy, which aim to support foster youth and urban high school students, respectively. Previous roles include Special Education Teacher at Glades Middle School and a Teacher at Sports Leadership And Management Academy (SLAM), with initial experience as an AmeriCorps Member at City Year. Vanessa holds a Master of Education in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Miami and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Teaching and Learning, Special Education at the same institution. Additionally, Vanessa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
