Steven Mc Kelvey began their work experience as a PHD Student at Queen's University Belfast in October 2017. Steven held this role until November 2022. In November 2022, they joined Randox as a Research and Development Scientist, and their employment there is ongoing.

Steven McKelvey completed their education at Queen's University Belfast. Steven pursued their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering from 2013 to 2017. Following this, they went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioinformatics, specializing in this field from 2017 to 2022 at the same university.
