Lindsey Goodwin leads the firm’s award-winning and integrated public affairs practice. In her decade-long tenure at the firm, Goodwin has provided counsel and driven strategy for public, private, corporate and not-for-profit organizations, and statewide trade associations representing some of California’s and the nation’s largest industry and policy areas, most notably housing and health care.

Her breadth of health care industry knowledge has contributed to the creation and catapulted the growth of the firm’s health care practice, which Goodwin also leads. Goodwin works with the state’s leading health care trade associations to support advocacy on a variety of issues – from charity care to Medi-Cal funding, labor issues and navigating financial challenges following COVID-19 response. She has also worked closely, providing issues and crisis management, and strategic communications and public affairs counsel, to some of the state and nation’s largest health systems, including Dignity Health, John Muir Health and Adventist Health.

Goodwin also oversees strategy for several of the state’s leading trade associations, to define, shape and win legislative, regulatory and policy debates. Goodwin currently works closely with the California Association of REALTORS® to elevate the need to advance homeownership opportunities for all Californians at a time when the state is facing a historic and dire housing supply and affordability crisis.

With more than 15 years of public affairs experience, Goodwin has led stakeholder engagement, outreach and media relations on some of the most-high profile public infrastructure projects throughout the greater Sacramento region and has worked for several state and local elected officials. Goodwin got her start in Sacramento on the staff of former Mayor Kevin Johnson building and leading community outreach efforts, and constituent and external affairs during the Mayor’s first term.

Goodwin was recognized as one the Sacramento Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” in 2019. She is a graduate of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Sacramento Class of 2018 and currently serves on the Leadership Sacramento Alumni Committee. Goodwin is also a proud and active alumnus of her undergraduate alma mater, Sonoma State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science awarded cum laude with distinction. Goodwin also holds a Master of Arts in Government from California State University, Sacramento, with emphases in California state and local government and American government.

When she’s not in the office, you can catch Goodwin on her yoga mat, spending time with friends and family, and taking weekend trips with her family to visit Sonoma County.
