Victoria Zadorozhny

Bioinformatics Scientist at Rancho BioSciences

Victoria Zadorozhny has a diverse range of work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Victoria started their career as an Undergraduate Research/Lab Assistant at the University of California, San Diego in 2005. Victoria then worked as a Research Associate at The Scripps Research Institute from 2006 to 2008. After that, they joined NovaRx as a Research Associate, where they focused on isolating and characterizing cancer stem cells. In 2012, they became a Bioinformatics Graduate Research Associate at San Diego State University, where they analyzed whole genome sequences of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis to identify mutations associated with drug resistance.

In 2013, they had two roles simultaneously. First, they worked as a Bioinformatics Intern at Sequenom, where they analyzed Illumina sequencing data and processed large datasets for variant calling. Second, they joined UC San Diego as a Research Associate, where they performed computational analysis of next-generation sequencing data and managed data organization.

In 2014, Zadorozhny joined Gensignia Life Sciences as a Data Analyst, focusing on bioinformatics and biostatistics. Victoria wrote programs to process and analyze miRNA qPCR data, performed statistical analysis, and developed predictive models using machine learning algorithms.

Their most recent role is with Rancho BioSciences, where they started as a Bioinformatician in 2016 and later became a Bioinformatics Scientist in December 2017. Further details about their roles and responsibilities in these positions are not provided.

Victoria Zadorozhny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from UC San Diego in the years 2002 to 2006. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from San Diego State University between 2011 and 2013.
