Ruth Katono is a skilled Research Officer at Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) since September 2020, focusing on qualitative data collection for various studies and participating in the recruitment and sensitization of research participants. Previously, Ruth served as a Social Worker at Nafasi Welfare Center from August 2014 to March 2020, where responsibilities included managing programs to support orphaned and vulnerable children and advocating for child protection. Prior experience includes working as a Students' Counsellor at Makerere University Hospital from February 2010 to September 2014, providing counselling services to students and mobilizing men for circumcision. Ruth holds a Bachelor's degree in Community Psychology from Makerere University, earned between 2005 and 2008, and an Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) from Stella Maris College Nsuube, completed in 2004.
