Michelle Smith, SHRM-CP, has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michelle began their career in 1996 at Hamlin, where they held the position of Production Team Leader for a decade. In 2006, they transitioned to Fort HealthCare - Lake Mills Clinic, working as a Transcriptionist until 2008. Michelle then joined Rainbow Hospice Care in 2008 as an Administrative Assistant, and subsequently became an HR Generalist in 2016. Currently, they hold the role of Director of Human Resources at Rainbow Hospice Care, starting in January 2022.

Michelle obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Upper Iowa University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned an Associate's Degree in Human Resource Management from Madison Area Technical College from 2010 to 2014. In addition, they completed another Associate's Degree in Business Management at Madison Area Technical College from 2010 to 2013. Michelle also obtained a Certificate in Human Resources from Madison Area Technical College in 2011. Michelle further expanded their education by earning an Associate's Degree in Medical Administrative Specialist from Madison Area Technical College from 2004 to 2008.
Michelle completed their high school education at Jefferson High School, where they received a diploma in 1996. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in HR Management & Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, expected to be completed in 2022.
In terms of certifications, Michelle obtained their SHRM-CP certification from SHRM in February 2016.
