Joanne Bird has extensive experience in communications and public relations across various high-profile organizations. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Railway Children since December 2022 and as a Director at Field Consulting UK since January 2020, Joanne has previously held significant roles such as Internal Change Communications (interim) at GTR, Head of Communications at RSSB, and Head of Media and Marketing at British Transport Police. Other notable positions include Head of Media Relations at BAA Heathrow and Associate Partner at Luther Pendragon. Joanne began their career as a Public Affairs Officer at the Strategic Rail Authority, followed by a role as Press Officer at the Royal National Institute for Deaf People. Joanne holds a BA Hons in Politics and English from De Montfort University.
