Sebastian Castro is a seasoned roboticist and applied scientist with a robust background in high-level planning and behavior abstractions for robotic manipulation skills, currently working at RAI Institute since May 2024. With previous experience as a Senior Robotics Engineer at PickNik Robotics, Boston Dynamics, and roles at MIT CSAIL and MathWorks, Sebastian has contributed to autonomous behavior development, task planning, and software integration across various robotics applications. Educationally, Sebastian holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, with a focus on modular robots and high-level control as evidenced by published research.
