Martins Zvaners has extensive experience in communications and public affairs, currently serving as the Senior External Affairs Officer and Deputy Director of Communications for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty since September 1997. In this role, which began in June 2002, Zvaners manages communications and external relations for the organization based in Washington, D.C. Prior to this, Zvaners was the Director of Public Affairs for the American Latvian Association from 1989 to 1997. Zvaners holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Russian Area Studies from the University of Minnesota, completed between 1981 and 1987.
