Mel Johnson has extensive experience in the aviation industry. Starting in 1998, Mel worked as a Project Engineer at TELAIR and later at Raisbeck Engineering as the Director of Programs. In 2002, Mel joined Telair International as a Project Engineer before moving to Boeing as a Program Manager in 2005. In 2006, Mel joined the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and held various roles including Aerospace Engineer, Assistant Manager, Deputy Director of Policy and Innovation, Director of Organizational Performance Division, and Director of Compliance and Airworthiness. Most recently, Mel has been the Head of Regulatory Affairs at Radia, Inc. since 2023.
Mel Johnson attended Brigham Young University from 1988 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
