Muna Balfaqeeh has extensive work experience in the field of education. Muna is currently working as the Director of Vocational Education Affairs at Rabdan Academy. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Continuing Education at Emirates College for Advanced Education from 2018 to 2022. Muna also held the position of Interim Chair of the English and Communication Department & Assistant Professor of Communication Department at Khalifa University from 2017 to 2018. Muna Balfaqeeh worked at the Petroleum Institute as the Dean of Student Life from 2016 to 2017 and as the Director of the Academic Bridge Program from 2014 to 2016. Muna also served as an Assistant Professor at the Petroleum Institute from 2013 to 2014. Their career in education began at the United Arab Emirates University, where they worked as an Assistant Professor from 2007 to 2013 and as a Teaching Assistant from 2004 to 2007.

Muna Balfaqeeh obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from United Arab Emirates University in 1999. Muna then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Linguistics & Translation at SOAS University of London in 2002-2003. Muna later completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Linguistics & Discourse Analysis at SOAS University of London from 2003-2007. Muna furthered their education by obtaining an EMBA degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Zayed University in 2018-2020. Currently, Muna is studying for a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fine Art - Painting at Academy of Art University, which they are expected to complete in 2024.

Additionally, Muna Balfaqeeh has acquired various certifications throughout their career. These include the Emirates Leadership Initiative from Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education in 2023, the NCFE Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement from Emirates College for Advanced Education in 2021, the ADSG Certified Coach Program - Practitioner Diploma from Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG) in 2021, the UAE Government Leaders Program - Executive Leaders from Prime Minister's Office - UAE in 2021, BMC Core Concepts from Bloomberg LP in 2020, Learning & Development Management from Informa Connect Middle East in 2019, the UAE Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Program from Stanford Center for Professional Development in 2018, and a Certified Legal Translator certification from the Ministry of Justice - UAE in 2005.
