Richard Nigro has been working in the engineering field since 2000. Richard began their career as a Computer Lab Assistant at the University of Toledo. In 2002, they became an Engineering Co-op at Avtron Manufacturing, Inc., where they created and tested software to test aircraft components, designed adapter cables to connect instrumentation devices to units under test, and demonstrated to fellow employees how to use the Avtron software. In 2004, they became an Engineering Co-op at Goodrich Landing Gear, where they manufactured, assembled, and wired various test equipment components, and participated in several aspects of drop testing A380 landing gear. In 2005, they joined Avtron Aerospace, Inc. as a Senior Design Engineer, where they were a lead member of a team to define and develop the next generation open architecture test executive software to be used on all future test stands, including a $5.1M sale of five custom R & D test stands for General Electric. Richard also led software design efforts on the redesign for H500 hydraulic pump and motor test stand, and was the single point of contact for all disciplines regarding product issues, ideas, and sales needs, and implemented continuous improvement for the AVRplus, including H-Bridge field current control to support B787 VFG and ASG. Richard also assisted customer support as a subject matter expert with startups and cases from customers in the field. In 2017, they joined TEST-FUCHS GmbH as an Engineering, and in 2019, they became a Principal Software Engineer at R.W. Beckett Corporation.

Richard Nigro attended The University of Toledo from 2000 to 2005, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering. In December 2015, they obtained a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) certification from National Instruments.
