Ron Westad has an extensive work experience in the field of project management and robotic engineering. Ron started their career as a Robot Technician at FANUC Robotics in 1986. Ron then joined Acieta LLC as a Service Manager, where they were responsible for on-site service of Robotic Welding and Material Handling Equipment. During their time at Acieta, they introduced the first Fanuc Arc Mate welding robot into the industrial marketplace. Ron later worked at RAM Center as a Research, Inside Sales, and Service Engineer, where they were involved in cost and quoting of robotic material handling equipment, as well as introducing new robotic systems into McDonald's restaurants. Ron then joined Genesis Systems in 1994 as a Project Manager and Applications Engineer. In this role, they managed projects for industrial and automotive robotic welding systems, ranging from $20k to $2.5 million. Their responsibilities included weld engineering, controls design, PLC programming, tooling review, scheduling, cost containment, and direct customer interaction. Currently, Ron is working as a Project Manager at R.A Jones, where they oversee project management activities.
Ron Westad attended Henning High School from 1980 to 1983. After completing high school, they pursued a Robotics Technology degree at Central Lakes College from 1985 to 1986. During their time at Central Lakes College, their field of study was focused on Robotics and Automation.
