Roy Schoonenboom is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Team Lead and Lab Engineer at QuTech since February 2018. Prior to this, Roy held the position of Mechanical Engineer at Dosign Engineering from September 2012 to January 2018, and worked as an approved mechanic at Epcor BV, a subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, from September 2011 to September 2012. Roy began their career as an F-16 technicus in the Royal Netherlands Air Force, from August 2009 to August 2011. The educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Werktuigbouwkunde from De Haagse Hogeschool, completed between 2012 and 2017, and a VTOC Fokker MBO 4 in Luchtvaarttechniek, completed from 2007 to 2010.
