Berni Cooper has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting from 1991, Berni worked as an Exchange Student for Rotary International, where they developed presentation skills and represented their Rotary Club in Canada. Berni then joined Beca as an Assistant Accounts Administrator from 2001 to 2005. From 2003 to 2005, Berni worked as a Computing Trainer at Step By Step. In 2005, they joined Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, where they held various roles including Computing Facilitator, Student and Staff Computing Support, Learning Advisor - Computing, and Learning Advisor (Senior Academic Staff Member). From 2018 to 2020, Berni served as an Academic Coach/Mentor at the University of Melbourne. In 2020, they became involved with the National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services, serving first as Division President for QLD/NT and Public Officer, and later as Vice President. In 2021, Berni joined Growth Psychology as a Professional Coach, where they help individuals identify goals and develop strategies for personal growth and career re-energizing. Currently, they are working at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) as the Associate Director of Wellbeing Strategy, leading health and wellbeing strategic initiatives and previously holding roles such as Health and Wellbeing Strategic Initiatives Project Lead, Strategic Lead - Career Development & Employability, and Curriculum Designer (Positive Psychology).
