David Silin is a technology professional with extensive experience in software development, specializing in machine learning and artificial intelligence. As Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer at QuillBot since April 2018, David has played a pivotal role in developing the original paraphraser and continues to enhance models such as Sequence to Sequence and Bert, utilizing tools like Pytorch and T5/Bart. Prior to this, David worked as a software developer at Epic and completed a software engineering internship at Corptax, where skills in ASP.NET, JQuery, and Microsoft SQL Server were developed. Earlier career experience includes teaching programming and robotics at iD Tech Camps and an apprenticeship at 8th Light, where foundational web design and coding practices were learned. David holds a degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall.
