Tony Avery is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in local government and infrastructure management. Currently serving as General Manager of Property and Infrastructure at Queenstown Lakes District Council since February 2016, Tony oversees the delivery of essential property services and infrastructure projects. Previously, Tony held roles as General Manager Planning and Development, General Manager Infrastructure and Networks, and General Manager Operations at Dunedin City Council, contributing significantly to core services such as transportation, water management, and community facilities. Tony also founded Avery & Associates Ltd, providing consultancy services leveraging over 16 years of leadership experience. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Regional and Resource Planning with distinction from the University of Otago and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Genetics from the University of Canterbury.
