Derrick M. Sainz

CTE Medical Pathways Teacher at Queen Creek Unified School District

Derrick M. Sainz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Derrick M. began their career in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as an Aircraft Maintenance Administration/Data and Systems Analyst and later as an Arial Gunner Observer (AGO). In these roles, they focused on maintaining in-flight security and providing aircraft security for CH-46 helicopters.

After leaving the military, Sainz worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for LifeLine Ambulance, responding to emergency medical scenes and assessing individuals experiencing acute medical problems. During their time with LifeLine Ambulance, they emphasized the importance of preparation in emergency management.

Sainz later transitioned to the education sector, working at San Tan Foothills High School as an Academic Counselor, Chemistry Teacher, Football Coach, and Wrestling Coach. Derrick M. supported students in their academic journey while also contributing to the school's athletic programs.

In 2018, Sainz became a Board Member for Friends of Freedom, an organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for veterans and their families.

More recently, Sainz joined the Crismon High School Rattlers as an Offensive and Defensive Line Coach and the Queen Creek Unified School District as a CTE Medical Pathways Teacher.

With their diverse background in military service, emergency medical care, education, and community involvement, Sainz brings a wide range of skills and experiences to their professional endeavors.

Derrick M. Sainz has a diverse and well-rounded education history that spans several institutions and fields of study. Derrick M. began their education at Trevor G. Browne High School, where they studied General Studies from 1998 to 2001. Following this, they attended Millennium High School from 2001 to 2002 and obtained their H.S. Diploma. Derrick continued their education at Estrella Mountain Community College from 2010 to 2012, pursuing an Associate of Science (AS) and Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Biology, General.

Seeking further specialization in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Derrick then enrolled at the prestigious Arizona State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences from 2012 to 2014. Derrick M. successfully completed the program, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biological Science.

Throughout their educational journey, Derrick has demonstrated a consistent interest in biology and the natural sciences. Their academic accomplishments reflect their dedication and passion for expanding their knowledge and expertise in these fields of study.
