Chris Kirby

Principal Software Engineer at Quantum

Chris Kirby is a highly experienced software engineer with a strong background in filesystem development. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Quantum since January 2011, Chris has focused on feature development for the StorNext filesystem and been the primary developer for the FlexSync replication product. Prior experience includes a position at Oracle Corp/Sun Microsystems from August 2004 to December 2010, where Chris contributed to feature development for ZFS and QFS Solaris filesystems and enhanced remote replication for ZFS. At QLogic from 2000 to 2005, and as a Member of the Technical Staff at SGI from November 1997 to May 2000, responsibilities included designing and developing clustering extensions for XFS and CXFS filesystems. Chris holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. in Computer Science from New York University.
