William Neils has extensive work experience in the field of quantum design. William began their career as a Senior Physicist at Quantum Design in 2005 and worked in that role for nearly 10 years. William then transitioned to the role of Product Manager for a year before being promoted to Director of QWorks Research Group in 2015. In December 2022, they were appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at Quantum Design. Prior to joining Quantum Design, Neils worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard University from 2002 to 2004.

William Neils received a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Physics from Binghamton University, where they attended from 1992 to 1996. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, completing their doctoral program from 1997 to 2002.
