Stefan Prestel

Principal Software Engineer at Quantum Brilliance

Stefan Prestel began their work experience as a Scientific Associate at CERN in September 2010, before starting their PhD studies at Lund University in February 2009. At Lund University, they worked as a PhD student until March 2013. Following that, Stefan served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at DESY from March 2013 to September 2014. Stefan then joined SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from September 2014 to September 2016. After that, they worked as a Staff Scientist at Fermilab from September 2016 to September 2018. At Lund University, they held the role of Associate Senior Lecturer from September 2018 to November 2022, where they focused on developing and improving simulation software and teaching computational physics algorithms. Currently, Stefan Prestel works at Quantum Brilliance, holding the roles of Senior Quantum Software Developer from November 2022 and Applications Team Lead from May 2023.

Stefan Prestel has a strong academic background in the field of Elementary Particle Physics. Stefan pursued and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Lund University. Additionally, Stefan Prestel also obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree (Diplom) in Elementary Particle Physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
