Geoff Gillett has a strong background in quantum physics and research. Geoff started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Queensland in 2005, where they worked until 2008. Geoff then went on to pursue their PhD at the same university, serving as a PhD candidate from 2009 to 2017. After completing their PhD, Geoff worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Queensland from October 2017 to July 2018. In 2018, they joined Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories as a Senior Scientist, where they stayed until June 2023. Geoff's most recent role is as a Quantum Control Engineer at Quantum Brilliance, starting from July 2023. Their work experience showcases a progression from academic research to industry, with a focus on quantum technologies.

Geoff Gillett completed their education at The University of Queensland. From 2002 to 2008, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Mathematics and Physics. Later, from 2009 to 2017, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics at the same university.
