Cecilia (Hanxu) Zhang has worked for a variety of companies since 2015. Cecilia (Hanxu) began their career as a Summer Intern at PerkinElmer, Inc. in 2015 and 2016. In 2019, they worked as a Student Research Assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles and the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, ASTAR. Additionally, they served as the Recruitment and Retention Chair for the Student Members of the American Chemical Society UCLA. In 2020, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher and an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, they are working as an Intern at 5Y Capital and a Research Associate at Quantapore Inc.

Cecilia (Hanxu) Zhang's education history includes attending the UWC South East Asia from 2014 to 2017, where they earned an International Baccalaureate (IB). Cecilia (Hanxu) then attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 2017 to 2021, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. In 2019, they participated in a UCEAP Study Abroad program at International Christian University, studying Japanese Studies. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science - MS in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles.
