Before that, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Forest Research Institute Greece in 1990, supporting data analysis and using software tools like Lotus 1-2-3 for spreadsheet analysis.

Dimitrios Niarchos obtained a Bachelor's degree in Forestry from the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly (TEI of Thessaly) from 1987 to 1991. Later, from 1998 to 2002, they pursued a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at The Manchester Metropolitan University. In addition to their degrees, Dimitrios Niarchos also acquired a certification in Urban Planning from the Laboratory of Urban and Regional Planning (ΛΑΕΚ) in September 2010.
