Warren Chan has worked in various roles related to software support and database administration. Warren started their career at WebCentral as a Level 2 Technician from August 2003 to August 2005. Warren then joined the Queensland Police Service as a Database Administrator from August 2005 to August 2007. Warren further advanced their career at the Department of Justice, where they served as a Senior Database Administrator from September 2007 to December 2011. During this role, they were responsible for the operational administration of SQL Server and Sybase SQL Anywhere databases, policy development, and server setup. Following this, Warren joined Hatch as an ICT Technician focusing on Database Administration from December 2011 until June 2016. Currently, they are employed at QIC as a Software Support and Database Analyst, starting from September 2016.
Warren Chan obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from The University of Queensland between 1998 and 2003. In addition to their degree, they also hold several certifications, including Splunk Enterprise 8.2 Data Administration from Splunk in June 2022, Administering Relational Databases on Microsoft Azure (DP-300) Cert Prep certifications from LinkedIn in April 2022, Creating Dashboards with Splunk 7.2 certification from Splunk in May 2019, and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) 70-431 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – Implementation and Maintenance certification from Microsoft in October 2007. Warren also holds a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) 70-290 Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment certification from Microsoft in March 2007.
