Paul Murphy is a seasoned optical engineering professional with extensive experience at QED Technologies, where roles included Senior Optical Engineer and Optical Engineering Manager from July 2000 to the present. Since October 2016, Paul has served as Project Leader for ISO/TC 172/SC 1 at the International Organization for Standardization, contributing to standards such as ISO 10110-5 and ISO 14999-2. Previous roles include Associate Editor for Optics Express from November 2009 to June 2013 and Treasurer for the Rochester OSA Council from 2008 to 2010. Paul holds a Ph.D. in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Rochester, obtained in 2000, and a Bachelor of Science in the same field, earned in 1995.
