Melanie Pickus has a diverse work experience in the medical industry. Melanie started their career as a Caregiver at In Home Support Services in 2002, and then worked as an R&D Intern at Aspire Medical in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, they completed their Master's Thesis Research at California Polytechnic State University and then worked as a QA Engineer at SpinalMotion, Inc. from 2009 to 2014. From 2014 to 2021, they worked as a Product Development Engineer at Simplify Medical, Inc. and then as a Senior Project Engineer, Development at NuVasive from 2021 to 2022. Melanie is currently working as a Senior Project Engineer at Q'Apel Medical, Inc.

Melanie Pickus attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2002 to 2008. Melanie then went on to receive an M.S in Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in 2008.
