Klas Takkel has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over multiple organizations and roles. Klas started their career as an Airport Firefighter in the Swedish Army in 1996. Klas then worked in various roles at Marriott Hotels from 2006 to 2007, including Assistant Front Office Manager, Sales Manager, and Director of Sales. Klas served as the Director of Sales at Hilton Garden Inn Edison/Raritan Center from November 2007 to August 2008. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, starting as an Associate Director of Sales and then progressing to the role of Area Director of Sales. In their most recent role at Hyatt, they were the Associate Director of Sales for a new-build property, overseeing startup operations and leading a sales team. From 2014 to 2015, Klas Takkel served as the Director of Sales & Marketing for Element by Westin Harrison/Newark, an opening team position. Klas then joined Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in 2015 and held various roles, including Director of Franchise Integration and Regional Director of Sales. In 2019, they became the Director of Hotel Integration, Field Openings, and later served as the Senior Director of Sales Integration, Field Openings, implementing new processes and driving profitability. Most recently, they worked as the Regional Vice President of Sales at GF Hotels & Resorts from October 2020 to March 2023. Currently, Klas is the Director of Commercial Operations at Pyramid Global Hospitality, starting in July 2023. Overall, they have a demonstrated track record of leadership, sales expertise, and successful hotel openings.

Klas Takkel earned an associate's degree in Travel Industry Management from the Swedish College of Travel & Tourism in 2003. Klas then attended Hawaii Pacific University from 2004 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Travel Industry Management. In addition to their formal education, they obtained various certifications, including IMPACT Sales Training in 2014 and Pre-Licensing Real Estate Courses for New Jersey from Weichert, Realtors in 2014. Klas also received certifications in Advanced Microsoft Excel in 2012 and Major Account Navigation from Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 2009.
