Gerald Pickett has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Gerald began their career as a Student Programmer at Iowa State University, where they worked with the Iowa Department of Transportation to develop a resource management program. Gerald then served as a Youth Director at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church and later as a Chaplain at Arcadia Methodist Hospital.
In 2010, Gerald joined Fuller Theological Seminary as an Assistant Director of Technology Services. During their time there, they implemented workflow improvements that increased efficiency and client satisfaction. Gerald also facilitated vendor engagements for software and hardware procurement and led cross-functional team analyses on shared business practices.
Gerald transitioned to a pastoral role as an Associate Pastor at Rose City Church, where they set up best business practices for the church and helped write a business plan for Rose City Coffee, a separate non-profit. Gerald also led and taught groups and established curriculum for a multi-generational, multi-ethnic church.
Gerald then served as a Church Planter at Northtown Free Methodist Church of Kansas City before moving on to Fullwindsor.co as a Wordpress Developer. In this role, they updated and retooled PHP plugins for Wordpress, developed custom STRIPE integrations, and created a custom plugin for displaying metrics from WooCommerce.
From 2017 to 2021, Gerald worked at Christ Community Church - Kansas City as a System Administrator. Gerald developed technological processes for check-in services, translated the church's website from HTML/PHP/Java to WordPress, and imported a custom MariaDB from Church Community Builder using CCB API.
Currently, Gerald is employed as a Software Developer at Pushpay, starting in August 2021.
Gerald Pickett pursued their education at Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Information Systems. Following this, in 2007, they enrolled at Fuller Theological Seminary and completed their Master's degree in Divinity/Religion in 2010.
