Matt Steuerwalt serves as the Senior Vice President of External Affairs at Puget Sound Energy since September 2023. Prior to this role, Steuerwalt was a Partner at Insight Strategic Partners from March 2017 to September 2023 and held the position of Director of Policy for Governor Jay Inslee from May 2014 to January 2017. Steuerwalt also served as Senior Vice President at Strategies 360 between January 2009 and April 2014 and as a Policy Advisor for Governor Christine O. Gregoire from February 2005 to December 2008. Earlier in the career, Steuerwalt worked as a Policy Advisor at the Office of the Washington State Attorney General from August 1997 to February 2005. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington (1995-1997) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UC San Diego (1986-1990).
