Amit Rao is a seasoned professional in the field of electrical engineering with extensive experience in transmission planning and reliability engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Planning Analyst at Puget Sound Energy since December 2022, Amit has previously held positions including Senior Consultant at Hitachi Energy and DNV, as well as Transmission Planning Engineer and Reliability Engineer at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO). With a strong background in production cost modeling, risk assessment, and market congestion analysis, Amit has contributed significantly to the reliability of the Bulk Electric System. Amit's educational background includes a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai University.
