Heidi Schlumpf

Freelance Writer at Publishers Weekly

Heidi Schlumpf serves as the National Correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter since 2008, alongside a role as a Freelance Writer for InTrust Magazine and Publishers Weekly since 2005 and 2003, respectively. From 2008 to August 2017, Heidi held the position of Associate Professor of Communication at Aurora University. Prior experience includes various editorial roles at U.S. Catholic magazine from 1999 to 2007 and as a Staff Writer for The Catholic New World from 1993 to 1999. Heidi began a journalism career as a Reporter and Features Editor for The Newhall Signal newspaper between 1989 and 1993. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Theological Studies focused on feminist theology, religion, and journalism from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University and a Master of Arts in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
