Matías Rojas has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Matías started their career as a Java Developer at Lempert in 2004, where they developed web applications using Java, Servlets, JSP, and a custom ORM framework. Matías then worked at b-Inside in 2005 as a Solutions Architect and Java Developer, where they were involved in architecture definition and development of a framework based on Java, Hibernate, XML, and XSL. At QLC in 2006, Matías worked as a Software Architect, gathering requirements, conducting technical analysis, and designing a multi-tier framework using Java, Hibernate, AJAX, Struts, Tiles, XML, XSL, JSPs, and Servlets.

In 2006, Matías joined Motorola as a Technical Lead and Software Engineer, leading a traceability project implemented in J2EE/PL-SQL. Matías also coordinated team tasks, defined architecture, developed a test automation tool in Java, and served as the main technical contact with the customer.

From 2007 to 2010, Matías worked at Nimbuzz as a Backend Technical Leader. Matías was responsible for technical specifications, architecture definition, and client/server protocol definition. Matías focused on achieving a scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available server-side implementation.

Matías then joined Smartdate in 2010 as a Backend Team Lead. Matías led a team in migrating a monolithic application to a service-oriented architecture, improving scalability and maintainability. Matías also implemented new features using open-source projects.

As an independent consultant from 2011 to 2020, Matías worked as a Freelance iOS Developer for clients such as Swisscom, Lebara, and NGTi. Matías coded iOS applications using Objective-C and Swift and sometimes worked on backend coding in Java and Scala, backed by MySQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch.

In 2015, Matías became a Software Engineer at AND CO, an acquisition by Fiverr. Matías was the first employee and enjoyed their time at the company, which provided freelancing solutions to ease the process from proposal to payment.

Currently, Matías works as a Software Engineer at Public.com, an investing social network. Matías is responsible for owning fractional shares of stocks and ETFs, collaborating with popular creators, and sharing ideas within a community of investors. Public.com aims to make the stock market inclusive and educational.

Matías Rojas attended Universidad Blas Pascal from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Informatics.
