Tracy K. Rice has an extensive work experience spanning over several organizations. Tracy K. started their career in 1988 as a Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Southern California and worked there until 1994. From 1994 to 2005, Tracy served as the Los Angeles Bureau Chief for the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition. Following that, they joined the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation as the Executive Director from 2005 to 2007. Tracy then worked at AEG as the Director of Compliance for a year before joining the ACLU of Southern California again as the Director of Development from 2008 to 2009. Tracy K. later moved to Public Counsel, where they held the roles of Director of Development from 2009 to 2014, and subsequently Vice President and Chief Development Officer from 2014 onwards.

Tracy K. Rice obtained a B.A. in History from The University of Kansas, where they studied from 1979 to 1981. Subsequently, Tracy pursued a Juris Doctorate degree in Law at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, attending from 1985 to 1988.
