João Valejo Coelho has a diverse work experience portfolio. João has worked at PSP Investments, first as a Private Equity Analyst in the Infrastructure Investments department from July 2019 to September 2020. João then progressed to the role of Private Equity Senior Analyst from September 2020 to March 2022. Currently, they are serving as a Private Equity Associate since April 2022.

Prior to working at PSP Investments, João gained experience as an Analyst at Bocconi Students Capital Markets from October 2017 to June 2019. João also completed a summer internship as a Summer Analyst in the Infrastructure Investments department at PSP Investments from July 2018 to October 2018.

João's early professional experience includes a summer internship at Banco de Portugal in July 2017, and being a Guest Participant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for their Corporate Finance Unlimited workshop in March 2016.

In addition, João is a Co-Founder & Co-Head of the Portfolio Management Division at the Portfolio Management Club since February 2016 until July 2017. The club is the first student-run Asset Management fund in Portugal, and they manage a real portfolio of assets with the support of Nova SBE faculty and finance professionals.

João Valejo Coelho's education history is as follows:

From 2017 to 2019, João attended Università Bocconi and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Finance.

Prior to that, from 2014 to 2017, João studied at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics.

In 2016, João also attended ESSEC Business School, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Administração de Empresas.

During the same year, João attended a program at Harvard University focused on Investment Theory and Applications in the field of Finance.

Before their university studies, from 2011 to 2014, João completed their secondary education at Colégio Moderno, specializing in Ciências Socioeconómicas.

In addition to their academic qualifications, João has obtained several certifications. In June 2017, they obtained the IELTS certification from the British Council. In January 2017, João achieved a score of 740, placing him in the 97th percentile, on the GMAT exam administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®).
