Jeff Messinger has over 30 years of work experience in environmental health and safety. Jeff is currently the Corporate Director of Environmental Health and Safety and Quality Assurance/Control at Psomas, where they are responsible for developing and implementing effective EHS programs for all business lines and projects nationwide. Prior to their current role, Jeff served as the Director of Safety, Security, Environmental and Sustainability at Orora North America, where they led EHS and sustainability efforts for distribution, warehousing, transportation, and manufacturing operations. Jeff has also held leadership positions at BakerCorp, DRI Companies, The Aerospace Corporation, Ancon Marine, Waste Management, Inc., 3E Company, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Throughout their career, Jeff has demonstrated expertise in EHS risk and compliance management, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
Jeff Messinger CSP, CHMM, OHST, CHST has a Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, which they obtained from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, they attended Iowa State University from 1985 to 1990, where they studied Fisheries and Wildlife Biology. In addition to their educational background, Jeff has obtained several certifications, including being a CBCP-Certified Business Continuity Professional from DRI International, a CESSWI-Certified Erosion Sediment and Storm Water Inspector from EnviroCert International, Inc., a CHMM-Certified Hazardous Materials Manager from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, a CHST-Construction Health and Safety Technician from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, a CSP-Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, an OHST-Occupational Health and Safety Technologist from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, a QSP-Qualified SWPPP Practitioner from the California Stormwater Quality Association, and an REA-Registered Environmental Assessor I from the California Environmental Protection Agency- Department of Toxic Substances Control.
