Warren Harper began their work experience as a Software Developer Intern at Aspect Security in October 2012. During their internship, they contributed to the development of a web application security monitoring tool and created a configurable security notification system using Java, Spring, and Hibernate.

In January 2014, Warren joined Johnson Controls as a Software Engineer. Warren designed and developed a distributed system controller platform for large-scale industrial refrigeration. Warren utilized Go for the backend and JavaScript, Sass (CSS), and HTML for the frontend. Warren also designed and built a custom Linux distribution for custom hardware using Yocto. Warren held this role until April 2017.

Following their time at Johnson Controls, Warren joined SES Networks in April 2017 as a Software Engineer. Here, they developed a distributed satellite capacity optimization platform for moving endpoints in a middle Earth orbit satellite constellation. Warren utilized microservices, gRPC, and Go to develop a system for dynamic layer 1 networking configuration on moving endpoints. Warren also created a development and testing environment with emulated hardware components using Docker and Docker compose. Warren was with SES Networks until June 2018.

From June 2018 to August 2020, Warren worked at IronNet Cybersecurity as a Senior Software Engineer. Warren wrote and maintained microservices for a high-throughput data pipeline, deploying with Kubernetes on the cloud. Warren contributed significantly to the company by developing microservices that processed data at a sustained throughput of 50 GB per second.

In August 2020, Warren briefly joined Megaphone as a Senior Software Engineer before moving on to Spotify in December 2020. At Spotify, they held the role of Engineer II-Senior Engineer until July 2023. Specific details about their responsibilities and contributions during this time were not provided.

Warren Harper attended Salisbury University from 2006 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish. Warren then went on to study at the University of Maryland from 2011 to 2013, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science.
