Paul Cox has a solid work experience spanning over several companies. Paul currently holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Proton Ventures since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Business Development Manager at HES International B.V. from November 2022 to July 2023.

Paul's longest tenure was at Vopak South Africa, where they served as the Managing Director from January 2016 to September 2021. In this role, they successfully led the organization through a period of rapid growth and development while addressing challenges in local business ethics, skills deficits, major projects, and the impact of Covid. Paul played a pivotal role in establishing fuels distribution capacity in response to the anticipated closure of South African refineries.

Before this, Paul held the position of Managing Director at Vopak Rotterdam Botlek BV from May 2010 to January 2016. As part of their responsibilities, they revitalized an aging storage facility through the development of a 10-year masterplan and secured significant investments to demonstrate its feasibility.

Paul began their career at Vopak in 1995, where they held various positions until 2002. During this time, they also served as a Trainee.

From 2002 to 2006, Paul worked as the Deputy Managing Director at Thai Tank Terminal, adding to their international experience in the industry.

Paul Cox attended Blaise Pascal from 1983 to 1988, completing their VWO degree. Paul then pursued Maritieme Bedrijfsvoering at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1988 to 1989. Paul later obtained a BBA in Business Administration from Nyenrode Business University, studying from 1989 to 1992.
