Stefano Carpigiani has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Stefano is currently the Head of Business Unit REM at Protesa S.p.A., a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at BayWa r.e. EMEA, where they held several roles including Head of Operations Italy, Head of Sales & Procurement, and Sales and Marketing Manager. Stefano also served as the Chief Executive Officer at T-Island, a company focused on supporting Italian skilled workers and professionals globally. Stefano also held positions as the Chief Operative Officer at Osservatorio Asia and Chief Executive Officer at Cleantech Srl, where they provided asset management and technical O&M services for Photovoltaic Parks. Before that, they worked as a Procurator - Representative at Colexon Italia Srl and as a Fixed Term Professor of Strategic Alliances at the University of Bologna. Stefano's early work experience includes roles as a Corporate Advisor at Sourcing Solutions Group and in the human resources area at Ds Datasystems. Overall, their experience encompasses leadership, operations, sales, marketing, consulting, and academia.

Stefano Carpigiani completed their Bachelor's degree in Science, History, and Philosophy from Liceo Scientifico Galileo Galilei, where they studied from 1995 to 2000. Stefano then went on to graduate from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in Economics between 2000 and 2005.

In addition to their formal education, Stefano Carpigiani obtained several certifications. In October 2012, they completed a course on Centralized Inverters Sunny Central from SMA America. Stefano also received a Teilnahmebecheinigung for 1.4 GPP in October 2012 and a Teilnahmebescheinigung for Inlingua GPP 1.0 in June 2011, both from Inlingua. Furthermore, they obtained certifications in "Manutenzione ed ottimizzazione degli impianti fotovoltaici" and "Attestazione PES o PAV e idoneità ai Lavori elettrici sotto tensione in BT - CEI 11-27 Ed.Terza" in July and June 2013 respectively, from Comitato Elettrotecnico Italiano.
