Alireza Afiat Milani, Ph.D., is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in battery management systems and software development. Currently serving as a Staff BMS Software Control and Integration Engineer at Proterra Inc, Alireza previously held significant roles at Faraday Future as a Senior BMS Control Engineer, and at Karma Automotive as a Battery Software Engineer, where contributions included HIL hardware/software implementation and battery application-software development. Prior experience includes work as a Battery Algorithm Engineer at EnerSys focusing on dynamic models and estimation algorithms, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University, contributing to the FREEDM SMC project with dynamic modeling and control design. Alireza holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Carolina State University, as well as a Master of Science from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science from Sharif University of Technology.
