Cary Wahlheim is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the fields of litigation, human resources, contracting, and corporate insurance. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Senior Counsel at Protective Life since August 2020, Cary leads the General/HR Legal Team. Prior to this role, Cary was University Counsel and General Counsel for UAB Health System within The University of Alabama System from January 2008 to August 2020. Cary's earlier career includes serving as a Partner at Burr & Forman LLP from October 1994 to June 2004 and holding an Associate position at Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. from September 1994 to September 1995. Cary earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from The University of Alabama School of Law (1990-1993) and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in International/Global Studies from Rhodes College, Memphis, TN (1985-1989).
