Nicole Whitaker, CPHR has gained extensive experience in the field of human resources throughout their career. Nicole started their journey at Interstyle Ceramic & Glass Ltd. where they served as the Human Resources Manager from 2006 to 2011. During their tenure, Nicole successfully implemented leadership training programs, developed communication strategies to enhance employee engagement, and collaborated with the Operations department to improve productivity.
Nicole then joined RONA as the Senior Human Resources Advisor for British Columbia from 2011 to 2014. In this role, Nicole worked closely with the senior Operations Leadership Team to implement people practices that aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. Nicole also played a key role in leading and developing the Human Resources Advisors in BC.
Following their time at RONA, Nicole worked at Prospera Credit Union. Initially, they served as the Senior Manager of People & Culture from 2017 to 2020, where they transformed the HR function from transactional to strategic. Nicole was responsible for various areas including strategic workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement. Nicole undertook several initiatives, such as the creation of leadership development programs and the implementation of metrics for improved HR programs.
In 2020, following a merger between Westminster Savings and Prospera Credit Union, Nicole was promoted to the role of Director, Talent & People Experience. Nicole led teams responsible for Talent Attraction, Employee Experience, HR Business Partner, and Learning & Organizational Development. Nicole also contributed to the advancement of the organization's Future of Work initiatives, leading the creation and introduction of a flexible work program aimed at attracting and retaining talent. In addition, they took charge of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within Prospera.

Nicole Whitaker, CPHR, pursued their education in HR management from 2005 to 2011 at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Nicole obtained a degree in HR Management from the institution. Additionally, Nicole Whitaker acquired the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate from Queen's University in August 2019. Furthermore, in December 2011, they became a member of CPHR BC & Yukon, obtaining their CPHR certification.
