Avinash Tulasi

Staff Research Engineer at Proshort

Avinash Tulasi has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and organizations.

Avinash currently works as an Applied Research Engineer (AI/ML) at Proshort, where they are responsible for researching and comparing existing machine learning applications, developing proof of concepts, and deploying end-to-end solutions.

Previously, Avinash worked as a Research Scholar at Precog @ IIITD, focusing on bringing machine learning and deep learning to social networks. Avinash curated datasets from different sources and analyzed the data and underlying networks.

Avinash also served as an ACM Anveshan Sethu Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, Avinash gained research experience as a Research Intern at the National Institute of Informatics in Japan from 2021 to 2021.

Prior to that, they worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, and as a Software Engineer at Tech Mahindra, where they tested performance and functionality of applications and developed automated workflows.

Avinash began their career as a System Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, where they worked on multiple teams in development and was involved in building code, providing handoffs to testing teams, and handling high-level sanity checks.

Overall, Avinash's work experience demonstrates their expertise in applied research, machine learning, data analysis, and software development.

Avinash Tulasi pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Cyber/Computer Forensics and Counterterrorism from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra from 2016 to 2018. Avinash also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, which they obtained from Vignan Institute of Engineering and Technology from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Python Data Structures from Coursera in June 2018, and in An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python from Coursera in April 2013.
