Dr. Kristal May

Consultant - Higher Education and Ed Tech at proSapient

Dr. Kristal May has a diverse work experience spanning various fields and roles. Dr. Kristal began their career as the Vendor Support Manager at RFP Depot in 2003, where they led a team responsible for coordinating research efforts, maintaining relationships with customers, and training new staff. In 2004, they moved to Asphalt Zipper as the Regional VP of Sales and managed a sales team targeting specific markets, organized demonstrations, and presented at trade conferences to boost exposure of the company. Dr. May later worked as an International Instructor & Admissions Consultant at Stevens-Henager College in 2008, where they increased enrollment, trained new staff, and streamlined processes to maximize productivity in the department.

In 2009, Dr. May joined Corinthian Colleges as the Admissions Manager, where they managed a large team, achieved high show rates and revenue goals. Dr. Kristal was later promoted to Academic Dean/Director of Education and managed student hand-offs, oversaw registration and scheduling of all students, and ensured satisfactory academic progress.

Dr. May joined the University of Utah in 2011 as Executive Director of Professional MBA, MBA Online, Career Advancement Center, Women's MBA Association. Dr. Kristal managed recruiting, admissions, student services, alumni relations for the MBA programs, led a staff of 15 employees, and developed personalized coaching and mentorship relationships. Dr. May increased the rankings of the programs, managed a sizable annual revenue, designed strategic plans and recruitment strategies, ensured high student satisfaction and NPS scores, developed touch-points for students and alumni, created and managed the Women's MBA Association, and taught Applied International Management.

Dr. May then worked at Instructure in 2020 as Manager, Customer Success. Dr. Kristal managed the renewal process for a region of customers, developed and implemented strategies to increase customer satisfaction and retention, participated in creating a global community space, expanded training and networking opportunities, developed a comprehensive internal training program for new team members, and developed and presented executive business review presentations for senior leadership.

Currently, Dr. May is the Director of Customer Success at Pluralsight, a role they took up in 2021. Dr. Kristal is responsible for overseeing customer success and developing strategies to maximize customer satisfaction and retention. Dr. May will join proSapient in 2023 as a Consultant focusing on Higher Education and EdTech. Dr. Kristal will also work as a Consultant in the same areas at Guidepoint and AlphaSights starting in 2023.

Dr. Kristal May received an Associates degree in Business Management from Utah Valley University in 2006 and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business in 2008. Dr. Kristal earned a Masters in Business Administration from Utah State University's Jon M. Huntsman School of Business in 2011. In 2013, they began pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Communication at the University of Utah which they completed in 2021. During their studies, they also completed a Certificate of Completion in the Green Belt for Non-Manufacturing program at the University of Utah in 2015 and another Certificate of Completion in the Human Rights Consortium program at the University of Oxford in 2017.
